Updating your space can be as easy as applying a new coat of paint or adding timeless treasures from your local thrift shop. Check out these hot design trends for ideas on how to add a little flair to your home in 2023.

Warm, deep colors – Gray has had quite the heyday, but will be on the way out in 2023, along with cool tones in general. Use warmer earth tones like beiges and browns as a base, with splashes of color in soothing greens, timeless blues, and vibrant purples for visual interest.

Accent walls – This is an easy way to make a statement in any room. Choose eye-catching elements such as unique textures, decorative tiles, patterned wallpaper, wooden slats, bold colors, or painted stripes.

Lighting as art – Layered lighting helps define spaces; create a cozy vibe with table lamps, add drama with a chandelier, or incorporate interesting textures with fixtures made of natural materials like rattan, fabric, leather, stone, and wood.

Lux – This can be as simple as adding a few glam accents to a space. Gold candlesticks, mirrored accessories, plush rugs, and rich textiles all contribute to a luxurious feel in any room.

Curves – From doorways to furniture, curves can make a space feel more inviting. An easy way to incorporate this trend is through items such as chairs, tables, vases, mirrors, and other small pieces of décor.

Sustainable design – This trend includes vintage and antique furniture, environmentally friendly fabrics, and non-toxic, low-impact materials. Using upcycled materials, repurposed items, or heirloom pieces are excellent ways to add tons of character while saving money and reducing a space’s carbon footprint.
