FAIR HOUSING

Fair Housing Act

NWMLS and its members are committed to supporting equal opportunity in housing.

State and federal law protect people from discrimination when they are renting or buying a home, getting a mortgage, seeking housing assistance, or engaging in other housing-related activities.

Fair housing laws prohibit discrimination based on sex, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, race, creed, color, national origin, citizenship or immigration status, families with children status, honorably discharged veteran or military status, the presence of any sensory, mental, or physical disability, or the use of a support or service animal by a person with a disability.
