Olympia broker named 2023 chairperson of Northwest MLS Board

Jeff Pust, designated broker and co-owner of Van Dorm Realty, Inc. in Olympia, was selected 2023 chairperson of the board of directors at Northwest Multiple Listing Service. Others who were elected to executive positions on the board include Frank Leach from Silverdale, vice chairperson; David Maider from Everett, treasurer; and Nicole Bascomb from Kent, secretary. Stuart Heath, from Bellevue is the immediate past chairperson.

Joining the officers on the 15-member board is JoAnna Harrison, a broker with CB Cascade – Wenatchee, a first-time board member, and three board members who were elected to new two-year terms:

  • Jill Himlie with Windermere Real Estate/Himlie in Shelton;
  • Pust; and
  • Jason Wall with Lake & Company in Seattle.

Seven other broker-members also serve on this year’s board of directors:

  • Keith Bruce, with Sound Point Real Estate LLC in Seattle;
  • Joe Deasy, with Windermere Real Estate/East in Bellevue;
  • Martha Hunt, with Adolphsen Real Estate in Chehalis;
  • Mike Larson, with COMPASS in Tacoma;
  • Jon Rockwood, with Rockwood Realty in Ferndale;
  • Todd Shively with Coldwell Banker Bain in Seattle;
  • Keith Wells with Windermere Real Estate Southeast in Monroe;

Directors of Northwest MLS are elected by district, with each district encompassing one or more counties in the MLS service area, which spans 26 of the state’s 39 counties.


Jeff Pust

Jeff Pust, the new board chairperson who served as NWMLS treasurer in 2022, started his real estate career in 1986 as a mortgage loan officer. He joined Van Dorm Realty, Inc., a family-owned, independent brokerage, in 1994, initially as a real estate salesperson. Upon the retirement of his wife’s parents in 2004, the couple took over managing the business, growing it to the largest real estate company in Thurston County. Pust is a lifetime Olympia resident whose industry service includes chairing the Olympic Multiple Listing Service in Thurston County, which became part of Northwest MLS in 2007. He was also an alternate member on the Thurston County Board of Tax Appeals.

Frank Leach

New vice chairperson Frank Leach is broker/owner of RE/MAX Platinum Services in Silverdale and team leader of the Frank Leach Group. The retired naval officer and longtime resident of the Kitsap Peninsula has four decades of real estate brokerage, land use and development, and construction management experience. Leach, the 2022 board secretary, is a state accredited real estate trainer and recipient of numerous leadership and achievement awards.

David Maider

David Maider, newly elected treasurer, begins his third term on the NWMLS board. The Seattle native is the owner and designated broker at Windermere Real Estate/M2 LLC in Everett and Lynnwood. Along with 29 years of real estate industry experience, including 16 years in his current role, Maider is actively involved in the Windermere Foundation and various charities based in Snohomish County. 

Nicole Bascomb

Another Seattle native, Nicole Bascomb, will serve as 2023 board secretary. She is the owner and designated broker of Bascomb Real Estate Group, a family-owned brokerage started by her late father Paul Bascomb. Her career spans more than three decades, including 20 years working as a loan officer and mortgage underwriter. In addition to being a commissioner with the Washington State Housing Finance Commission, Bascomb serves on several community boards, including organizations focused on housing and supporting marginalized communities.

Stuart Heath

Immediate past chairperson Stuart Heath was also raised in a real estate family, but practiced law prior to changing careers to pursue what he says is his passion, real estate. He has 28 years of industry experience. The lifelong King County resident owns Bellmark Real Estate. He has served on 14 boards over the past decades, both within the industry and with various nonprofit organizations.
