Clean Up Internet Explorer Offline Files

NWMLS recommends that you clean up Internet Explorer files on a weekly basis. There are 3 methods you may use to accomplish this:

A. Use the Operating System for I.E. 7

  1. Go to "Start" >> "Settings" >> "Control Panel"
  2. Left Mouse-Click on "Internet Options"
  3. In the "Browsing history" section click on "Delete..."
  4. On the next screen click on "Delete all..." and then click on "OK"
  5. Click again on OK to close the Internet Options screen.

B. Use the Operating System for I.E. 6

  1. Go to "Start" >> "Settings" >> "Control Panel"
  2. Left Mouse-Click on "Internet Options"
  3. Click on "Delete Cookies" and then click on "OK"
  4. Click on "Delete Files", then LEFT-Click on "Delete all offline content" and then click "OK"
  5. LEFT-Click on "Clear History" and then click on "Yes"

WARNING: If you use IE's Address Drop-down menu to navigate the internet; you SHOULD NOT clear history.

C. Launch Internet Explorer Browser

Follow the above steps respectively for IE 7 or IE 6 when the "Internet Options" window appears on your screen.
Click on Tools on the top browser menu to get to Internet Options.

D. Software Utility

Software is available that will automatically perform this maintenance for you. Example: "IE Privacy Keeper."
